Vicki Hodges

Vicki Hodges has been Upward Bound’s Academic Coordinator since March of 2021. She has undergraduate degrees in Spanish and Social Work, and a Master's in English. She previously taught English for Upward Bound’s Summer Academy and resume writing at their Saturday Academy for over eight years in addition to composition courses at the University of Arkansas as well as NorthWest Arkansas Community College, the latter for over twenty years. She has tutored students in the Writing Centers at both colleges and has served as a tutor and/or academic coach for various institutions online and has also taught Spanish at the high school level. In the social work field, she has worked in child protective services, as well as geri-psyc and nursing home facilities. Vicki has dabbled in online freelance writing in addition to editing remotely and locally. To unwind, Vicki sings in a local band at various venues, including nursing home and assisted living facilities. Besides music, other passions include cooking, watching sports, and hanging out with her menagerie of dogs at cats at home.
